There have finally been some Desktop Gadgets released which are unobtrusive, stable and useful and I've written a short introduction so that you can make use of them. Windows Desktop Gadgets are nativity implemented by Microsoft. A gadget desktop transforms the desktop experience into one that more closely emulates a mobile platform such as Apples IOS or Google's Android.
Apple's App Market sales are possibly as high as $4.9 billion in gross sales. The desktop has yet to capitalize on this possibility but here are a few gadgets for your enjoyment.

These gadgets will work on windows 7 or vista. Once properly unzipped you will see sidebar gadget files, you just click them to install them. To access the gadget installation pane, right click the desktop and choose Gadgets.
